Most cities you visit once. But La Serenissima is not most cities. Venetian’s nobility and artists have treated Giudecca as a retreat since the fifteenth century, and that spirit still holds. Where to Stay in Venice: Airelles Palladio Venezia

You arrive the way Venice intends, by water. A private Riva boat carries you across from the main island and slides up to the hotel’s own dock, and the day resets the moment you step off the boat.

Airelles Palladio opened on Giudecca in April 2026, the French group’s first hotel in Italy, set across three historic accommodation buildings, with the Church of Santa Maria della Presentazione at its heart, and a hectare of gardens. The Palladio itself was designed by Andrea Palladio in 1561 and once housed the Zitelle Institute, where young noblewomen learnt the craft of lace making. Villa Frollo, an aristocratic academy dating to 1677, holds the Doge suite, whose view of St Mark’s has drawn artists for generations.

The result is French grandeur in an authentically Venetian setting. During the renovation, the owners acquired 10,000 antique pieces and placed them throughout, so no two rooms are alike. Terrazzo floors give way to Rubelli brocades and the soft light of Fortuny lamps and Murano chandeliers overhead. French designer Christophe Tollemer drew on Venetian ateliers to shape the look, and the mix of Palladian architecture with French detail feels both unexpected and very chic.

It is the small signature Airelles gestures that stay with you. Venetian mule slippers wait in your size for the cool terrazzo underfoot. The minibar holds fresh lemons and a bone-handled Sardinian knife, ready for a cocktail with a twist. Bathrooms are stocked with bespoke products especially for Airelles. Further, guests are designated a member of staff responsible for personal gifting, with personalised treats left thoughout the stay.

The sense of space is rare for Venice. Artfully manicured gardens open onto one of three swimming pools, and the city’s largest spa unfolds across three floors and 1,700 square metres, with an indoor pool and a hammam tucked into its haven of calm.

What to do in Venice

Giudecca asks nothing of you in the mornings. Walk the fondamenta, the broad path along the water, past the fishermen with their rods and the view back across to Dorsoduro. The nearby Basilica del Redentore with its white marble dome and elegant interior stands as one of Palladio’s masterpieces most visitors to Venice only glance at. A discreet gate beside the Church leads into a sixteenth-century garden of olive trees and chestnut pergolas, ending at Fortuny’s atelier where the fabrics are still made by his original method.

When you want the grand private tour experiences in Venice, the concierge opens the doors for you. You might have St Mark’s Basilica to yourself after dark, its mosaics lit and the golden Pala d’Oro to yourself, or the Doge’s Palace explored at your own pace long after the queues have gone. On another evening you could be welcomed into a private palazzo along a silent canal, where the owners pour cocktails in frescoed salons and walk you through Renaissance paintings the family has held for centuries.

When the lagoon tempts you, a local oarsman will teach you voga alla veneta, the upright rowing that looks effortless until you try it. Or give an afternoon over to the spirit of Carnevale. A Venetian costume house opens its collection of more than 1,500 handmade pieces, inspired by the likes of Marie-Antoinette to Casanova, and dresses you for the part before a photographer follows you through the streets. Save an evening for Vivaldi’s Four Seasons played where it was written at the Vivaldi museum, or for an opera in St. Marks Square a setting the city does better than anywhere.

Where to Eat in Venice

There is hardly a more storied address on the Champs-Élysées than Le Fouquet’s. A figurehead of Parisian elegance since 1899, Fouquet’s became synonymous with movie stars and writers with the hotel above the original brasserie opened by Barrière in 2006, following a meticulous renovation. Fouquets is home to 101 spacious rooms and suites, beautifully appointed with tones of beige and gold, its legendary brasserie, and the Decorté spa, 750m² dedicated to wellness.

Day 1 – Touch Down in Paris

Relax in comfort on your private transfer from Charles de Gaulle airport directly to Fouquet’s, a complimentary inclusion by Travelcall for stays longer than two nights. Le Grand Hôtel Dinard is perched above the Plage de l’Écluse, commanding the finest position in town, with views directly across to the walled city of Saint-Malo.

Day 5 – Arrival on the Emerald Coast

Take your time to settle in and take in the fresh sea air after the hustle and bustle of Paris, wandering the waterfront and Belle Époque streetscape on foot. Enjoy an unhurried dinner at Le George V, the hotel’s bay-view restaurant where local Breton seafood like Cancale oysters and lobsters star with produce drawn directly from the region. Day 6 – Saint Malo and the Coast

Cross to Saint-Malo by ferry (10 minutes) to walk the ramparts, explore the old town and lunch at Le Bistrot du Rocher, a farm-to-table address serving honest, elevated food well away from the tourist circuit. Deauville | 3 Nights | Le Normandy

Built in 1912 to accompany the Casino Barrière Deauville opened by founder François André the same year, Le Normandy sits in prime position above Deauville Beach. Day 8 – Arrival to the Home of Barrière

Check in to your upgraded sea-view room or suite at Le Normandy in the afternoon and take a stroll along Les Planches, the famous boardwalk lined with colourful parasols and Pompeian Baths bearing the names of Hollywood stars who have attended the Deauville American Film Festival over the decades, from Clint Eastwood to Natalie Portman. A trip in early September (when the festival takes place) can even have you catching a glimpse of the stars in person! Day 9 – Horses, Boutique Shopping and Casino Night

Deauville and horses are like Deauville and the sea: inseparable. Spend the morning at the Hippodrome de Deauville to catch a race or La Touques for a polo game if scheduled (premier seats can be arranged in advance with your Travelcall advisor). The afternoon is for exploring local boutiques as well as familiar names, like Hermès, on Rue Eugène Colas plus local Norman food producers and the covered market. Enjoy a dip in the pool back at the hotel or treat yourself to a facial at the newly opened Guerlain Spa. Day 10 – Normandy by Private Guide

The quaint Channel resort town possesses a distinctly Anglo-Norman character, where the Art Deco architecture of the town centre speaks to its early twentieth-century heyday as a retreat for the British and Parisian elite. Le Westminster, the Barrière property at the heart of this coastal town has been the address here since 1924, with thoughtful renovations in recent years and the Guerlain Spa is one of the preferred hotel spa programmes in Northern France.

Day 11 – Arrival and Exploration

Upon arrival, walk to the beach through the pine forest trail, the combination of resin and salt air is one of the privileged sensory experiences in the region.
